A Note from Dr. Renee Kinney:
You’re concerned about the health of your teeth, your smile, your 1st impression… and finding a dentist you can trust to listen to you and take the time to provide the same amazing care they would for their own mother.
I understand. My father started this clinic in 1973, after serving as a Dental Officer in the U.S. Navy, and he taught me is that my relationship with my patients is the most important thing to our practice; and that the best relationships are built on compassion, honesty, and communication. We have put together an experienced, team that I know will manage everything else while we are with a patient. My primary job is to just be present for my patients and listen to their needs, their worries, and their desires for the best outcome they want for their teeth.

What to expect during your first visit:
As you enter our office, our friendly reception team will warmly welcome you and assist you with any necessary paperwork or insurance forms. Comprehensive Dental Examination:
During your first visit, we will conduct a comprehensive examination to assess your dental health thoroughly. This examination will help us understand your current oral condition and identify any potential issues that may require attention. Often these visits include digital images, charting, TMJ wellness evaluation, oral cancer screening, and gum screening. Our goal is to develop a treatment plan that focuses on prevention, early detection, and conservative care to keep your smile healthy and beautiful for years to come.
Digital X-rays and Imaging:
At Art & Science Family Dentistry, we are dedicated to providing you with the most precise and efficient dental care available. To ensure this, our experienced team utilizes state-of-the-art digital X-rays and
3D Scanning technology. Digital radiography has revolutionized the way we capture dental
X-rays, enhancing the process in terms of speed, comfort, and
convenience.
With the ability to instantly view high-quality images on monitors within the treatment room, our dentists can provide you with swift and accurate diagnoses and personalized care. Digital dental X-rays play a crucial role in planning a range of dental treatments, such as oral surgery procedures, root canal treatment, dental implants, and orthodontics, and ensures that these procedures are carried out with utmost precision and efficiency, resulting in optimal outcomes for our patients.
We also utilize a 3D iTero scanner to help with treatment planning and education. With this technology, we have the ability to show digital models of your mouth, highlighting tooth position and bite. Photos of individual teeth are also taken to help raise awareness of concerns specific to your care. This software can also help to model orthodontic tooth movement. As a great tool for patient education, we have really enjoyed adding this to our offered services.

Dental Exams & Cleanings
At our clinic, dental cleanings and exams are fundamental yet crucial preventive treatments we provide. During your checkup, we will perform professional teeth cleaning and dental examination to maintain your oral health. Our dental team will:
- Thoroughly clean your teeth, eliminating plaque and tartar (also known as dental calculus) to prevent tooth decay and periodontal disease.
- Carefully floss and polish your teeth, leaving you with a healthy and radiant smile.
- Conduct a comprehensive examination of your smile, looking for any signs of dental conditions or diseases that could cause harm.
To ensure a comprehensive evaluation of your oral health, we may employ dental X-rays. Regular dental cleanings and exams play a vital role in preserving good oral hygiene, preventing cavities and gum disease, and addressing any potential issues at their earliest stages.
We recommend scheduling routine dental cleanings and exams every six months. However, if it is necessary for your dental health, we may suggest more frequent visits. Additionally, if you experience a dental emergency, pain, or injury, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
